African proverbs
God is good but never dance with a lion.
Meaning: We all get tempted with doing something unethical or unwise. But you know, not every temptation happens by chance. Some temptations are self-induced. In other words, for some temptations we would never have encountered them in the first place if we did not initiate or invite them. You cannot walk on hot coals not expect your feet to burn.
You cannot refuse to brush your teeth and not expect your mouth to smell. "You cannot live a positive life with a negative mind" (anonymous). If you dance with a lion and you are victimized, it doesn't prove God as powerless, it rather proves you as foolish or careless. God certainly does not compensate for foolishness or carelessness. Country's Proverb: Zimbabwe
THE POWER OF APPRECIATION
Honestly, you have nothing to loose in the face of appreciation. Appreciation brings addition and multiplication . A grateful heart is a guarantee fruitful life.Murmuring only leads to stagnation, emptiness and fruitlessness. The root cause of appreciation is contentment and one destroyer of contentment is murmuring.
Now why would you give room for murmuring and complaining, about how things are not working for you. You don’t have to have it all to be grateful, look around you there is always something to be grateful for. Your ability to see the daylight is something. So be grateful and appreciate the little things. When discouragement creeps in, say this to yourself
